Introduced in the 1997 Seed Savers Exchange Yearbook by Glenn Drowns. Great black tomato that is virtually blemish-free. Baseball-sized fruits are borne in clusters of up to six fruits, very productive. Excellent full flavor, great for markets.

Store your tomatoes at room temperature. The flavor and texture of tomatoes suffer when the fruit is chilled.
Heirloom tomatoes are bred for their flavor and simple preparation best allows that intense flavor to shine through. Tomatoes can be sliced and drizzled with olive oil, balsamic vinegar, and salt and pepper or layer slices with basil and mozzarella for a Caprese salad.
Roasted tomatoes have a richer, concentrated flavor.
There are hundreds of salsa recipes to try and most are dramatically improved with the use of heirloom tomatoes. Tomatoes are also the main ingredient in Gazpacho, a cold soup that is perfect for summer.
Instructions - Sow seeds indoors ¼" deep. Tomatoes are sensitive to freezing temperatures, so wait to transplant outdoors until the soil is warm. Plant in full sun.

Unique color and very good flavor
You'll get clusters of fist sized meaty tomatoes perfect for a salad or sandwich. Nice complex flavor. Check by feel for ripeness so you don't let them get over ripe. Mine produce a lot but tend to get wilt toward the end of the season (like many tomatoes).
Amazing flavor! Smaller in size but not too small, and well worth it for the great taste, will grow again next year for sure
Will Definitely Grow More This Year (2023)
I grew two plants last year for the first time. Had to be my favorite tomato variety in last year's garden. The tomato had a sweet flavor that's perfect fresh or roasted. Another reviewer mentioned to check for ripeness by feel and it's true. If I remember correctly, the tomato looks ripe in color but not in texture so may need a few more days on the vine. The vines had no issues until frost and I was really sad to cut them down because they were still producing..

Nyagous is one of my favorite varieties year after year. Tolerate cool nights in the Catskills. In a normal year, the fruits are the size of a baseball, and as round, borne on clusters like cherry toms. Quite unique. The color is burnt orange to very dark brown (prettier than the photo). They have that slightly smokey, complex flavor of the black tomatoes. Needs support. Absolutely delicious.
