Historic Pansies Mix
None of the original pansies introduced in the 1800s by the Vilmorin Company of Paris still exist by their true names. Fortunately for gardeners, seedsman Kees Sahin kept a collection of 13,000 violas in the Netherlands. Kees re-aSeed Savers Exchangembled a mixture closely resembling the original “Bambini Mixture” from Vilmorin. The flowers are reminiscent of little smiling faces with distinct whiskers.

These seeds germinated poorly. When they finally bloomed, they are pretty but don't look like the pictures & lack the "whisker" markings.
Seed Savers Response: Hi Momma, I'm sorry to hear that this seed did not meet your expectation for germination. We do test germination every year to make sure only the best seed leaves our location. Please reach out to our customer service team to be sent a replacement for this seed.
I order these beautiful pansies every year. There are colors that are not available in modern pansies. Although pansies thrive better in cool weather, the surprise was that these bloomed all summer also in midwest heat. Love ❤️
I love these pansies! I’ve planted them for several years and they self-sow. They’re adorable and grow well here in central Oregon.
