Store your tomatoes at room temperature. The flavor and texture of tomatoes suffer when the fruit is chilled.

Heirloom tomatoes are bred for their flavor and simple preparation best allows that intense flavor to shine through. Tomatoes can be sliced and drizzled with olive oil, balsamic vinegar, and salt and pepper or layer slices with basil and mozzarella for a Caprese salad.

Roasted tomatoes have a richer, concentrated flavor.

There are hundreds of salsa recipes to try and most are dramatically improved with the use of heirloom tomatoes. Tomatoes are also the main ingredient in Gazpacho, a cold soup that is perfect for summer.

Packaged Wrong

by

I really can't rate the Gold Medal tomatoes because I believe mine were packaged wrong. I think what I got were Pink Ox Heart tomatoes (which were a great tomato) but they definitely were not the Gold Medal that I ordered.

Large, no cracking

by

Fried some of these green, and used for green salsa - delicious. Eaten ripe they were delicious too. Large fruit, no cracking issues.

My favorite beefsteak tomato that i have grow so far for flavor. We go a pretty good harvest off each plant and i did plant them a little late. Will grow again.

Attractive with great flavor

by

Productive. Great flavor. Attractive when sliced. Full flavor. A favorite. Pick just before fully ripe to prevent cracking/rot.

Beautiful but not very tasty

by

Huge tomato, had some cracking on top near the stem. Absolutely beautiful tomato, just like the pictures. If you eat with your eyes you'll love this, however, I don't. Flavor was mild, definitely not very sweet, I've had much sweeter tomatoes of this size. Texture was good, meaty. I just didn't find it to be very flavorful.

My Favorite Tomato

by

I've grown many tomatoes, and this is the one I grow year after year. It produces a unique, vibrant yellow-orange-red ombre color and has a very sweet flavor compared to other tomatoes. It feels like it's lower in acid, as evidenced by my lack of stomach discomfort after eating a lot of salsa made from this tomato. When grown properly with pruning of suckers and having ample support, these plants have not yet failed to produce huge, two-hands fruit.

Favorite non red

by

Delicious. Best non red tomato I have ever eaten. Weighed in at 2 lbs. it has found a home in my garden.

Best tasting tomato grown this year

by

This is a definite keeper. This year was my first year growing this tomato. The color is beautiful but the taste is amazing. This tomato was so flavorful! I tasted the tomato before seasoning it for my tomato sandwich, the tomato had a slight hint of a salt taste, which was a shocking but a delightful surprise to my tastebuds. Shared with the household after my taste test, and everyone loved the flavor of this tomato.

Worth a spot in your garden

by

I have been sitting on these seeds for a few years and decided to try to grow them now that I have more land. I can say without a doubt this has become one of my favorite varieties. They are incredibly prolific and I wound up with a 2.4lb beast as my first of the year. They taste amazing fresh with some sea salt or broiled on cheesy toast. I have even added a few to a fresh tomato sauce I made (which brought out a lot of sweetness). I highly recommend checking out this variety. Good yield, healthy plants, and a very interesting flavor.

Beautiful, color, flavor, & size!

by

My students grew your tomatoes as Mother’s Day garden gifts. They grew to over 10 feet tall with tomatoes the size of two fists together, and the flavor!!! So many tomatoes per plant. Will grow again!
