White Vienna Kohlrabi
(aka Early White Vienna, Di Vienna Bianco) Pre-1860 variety. Pale green above ground globes with crisp white flesh. Sweet and mild with a flavor reminiscent of turnips. Best harvested at 2½" diameter. Excellent raw or steamed.

Kohlrabi has a sweeter and more mild flavor than the turnips it resembles. Try grating fresh, peeled bulbs with apple, fennel, and cabbage for a cole slaw variant or tossing diced kohlrabi in with salads.
Roasted kohlrabi can be used along with the cooked tops of the plants in curries and soups.
Instructions - Best grown in cooler weather. Sow seeds outdoors as soon as soil can be worked and danger of hard frost has passed. Can also be started indoors and transplanted out. Plant in full sun or partial shade. Kohlrabi is also an excellent fall crop.
