Spinach is an excellent source of vitamins and minerals and to get the best benefit from it, eat the spinach leaves raw or just slightly cooked.
You can use spinach as the leaves in a salad paired with berries, nuts, bacon, or fresh cheeses. You can also combine cooked spinach with curries or Middle Eastern spices and cream sauces.
SSE's current stock of the 'Strawberry' spinach tested at a 41% germination rate. This is below the federal germination rate standard (60%) and has been over-packed by 75% of the stated quantity.

We love this spinach
by TRAVIS
It grows really well in central Oregon, which is a high desert area. The birds don't mess with it as much as strawberrys.(haven't needed netting) Wait for the berries to get real red and ripe and it is nice and sweet. The spinach greens are decent. But the berries we love the most. Also it is very easy to collect seeds and sow for next year. And it usually self sows and comes back on its own.

Bad seeds?

The seeds never germinated. I tried planting twice. I was really looking forward to having this in the garden. It looks like so much fun.

No germination - planted in May 2022
by Gary
Ordered this year 2022, no seeds germinated for us. Planted this in multiple locations in NJ in early May. Truly unfortunate, my son really wanted these to grow

Worst Ever
by Lloyd
Even under the most ideal conditions I could create in 7a, the germination rate was abysmal. Never grew a plant to anything close to maturity. Definitely not a good fit for the High Plains.
Didn’t germinate
by Jessi
Would not germinate under any conditions. Tried in the ground, in my greenhouse, in my house, even the paper towel method and not a single seed out of 250 germinated. I was really excited about this one and hoped I’d have better luck than the reviews.
Have a Good Seed Starter Setup.

Texture of a strawberry with good spinach flavor.
Tiny seeds with a low germination rate; those that did sprout grew prolifically.
Had no pest issues.
Three weeks to germinate, then growing full bore
by Virginia
Took three full weeks to germinate, but with that patience had a really high germination rate. I started them in an aerogarden, so they were kept moist and were under light, not sure how sensitive they are to those variables. Very attractive leaves on plants about two inches high now, looking forward to watching them mature!
