Lima Bean, Sieva
Item Details
This variety has been popular for hundreds of years and is also sometimes known as 'Small White' or 'Carolina' lima. Lima beans were domesticated in the Andes around 2000 BCE and in Mesoamerica almost 3000 years later, resulting in the Sieva type. It wasn't until the 1500s that limas were being grown in Europe and the Mediterranean regions.
- Organic
This variety works for:
- Fresh eating
- Baking
- Soups
As your lima beans are maturing, shell them and toss the fresh seeds into salads with mint, feta, and hulled corn.
If you grow your limas as dry beans, try adding them to spicy Moroccan stews or Asian curries as the flavor of the bean will hold up well.

- Direct Seed: 2" Apart

Great lima bean!! Love that they are pole beans!

I bought these to use in my garden for summer 2022. They did great!!! I live in Virginia and I am still picking beans in October. If we don't get frost, I suspect they will have time to produce another picking by the end of October.
Wow! Very good tasting.
