A great by

Bought these seeds on a lark at Earl May. Germination was great, the plant is a shade over 5 feet tall and withstood some stiff winds during some storms a couple weeks ago.

I just saw my first bloom at 53 days after planting. It is crawling with some small bees; I think they are leafcutters.

These make for amazing cut flowers

We're growing these with a whole slew of other varieties, and these are among our favorite. The flowers turn out just like the picture - the petals are deep red toward the center, quickly fading to a mellow yellow coloration at the edges. The flower diameter is right at about 5-6", and the plant height is between 4-6' - just as described. These make many heads per plant, with stems in the 10-12" range as they near opening.

And yes, the bees absolutely love these flowers!

This was a beautiful addition to my garden, the color really pops and gives my garden a vary warm feeling.
