Plum Purple Radish
Released by the Alf Christianson Seed Company in 1985. Unique deep purple round roots. Firm white flesh is sweet and mild all season long and never pithy. Hardy and adaptable. Exceptional variety for the novelty market and also for the home gardener.

Radishes are mostly eaten raw, sliced or diced and added to salads. You can also serve them as an appetizer with dip or hummus or sliced on buttered bread.
The leaves of radish plants are edible and can be boiled to improve the texture.
When storing radishes, make sure to clip their tops so that the roots will last longer in storage.
Instructions - Sow seeds outdoors as soon as soil can be worked in spring. Plant in full sun. Successive plantings can be made every 3-4 weeks throughout summer and fall to provide a continual harvest.

Great all purpose radish.
I loved these. I grew five varieties of radish in my garden last year and by far these were my favorite. They survived a late frost, grew, and had a sweeter taste than other varieties. Much more bite than a turnip, but not so much that you wanted to use it as a spice, not a vegetable, the outer skin turns a blueish purple when cooked, and it's great for slicing and pickling for adding to salads and sandwiches.

30-35 days to maturity, amazing color, never spicy or woody. Direct sow every 2 weeks for a continuing supply all season.
Best radish variety
My favorite of all the radishes. 30 day grow time reduces chance of bolting. Always delicious and crisp with just enough warmth to know it's a radish. Doesnt stay in my garden long enough to get woody and we grow it all season long.

I wish I could attach photos. These are outstanding radishes; mild enough to share with kids and radish-nay-sayers. I grew these in Zone 6b. Direct seed sow in my cattle panel greenhouse in late February. It took a little longer to harvest since I started them in cool weather, but harvested just under 2 months later. These are plump, healthy, delicious, and not very spicy. We put the radish greens in our smoothie. This is a keeper in our family!!!
Pretty Purple Radish
I can't say anything bad about these radishes. They are a pretty purple and a pleasant change from the typical red and white radishes. As others have said they are mild enough for kids. I like eating them whole, but they are great for adding to salads or fish tacos. Super easy to grow in spring in Northern Virginia. I'll try a fall crop later this year.
Delicious and great for first time growers.
These grew into pretty pinkish/purple golf ball size radishes with little effort from me. These are delicious and not spicy at all like the radishes I recall from my youth.
