beautiful survivor

hands down my favorite lettuce this season... extremely tender but holds up to strong vinaigrettes and a sweet onion dressing. Survived cabbage worm damage which took out everything around it.
Beautiful Red Lettuce
by Paul
This is a beautiful lettuce. It really adds color to salads. It has a very pleasant flavor. We have been picking it for a few weeks now and mid-way through June it is still going strong. No bitter taste and no sign of bolting. I live in Northern Virginia and often the heat starts taking its toll on lettuces this late in the year, but not with Lolla Rossa, at least this year. I am impressed.
