Purple Prairie Clover
Bright purple blossoms mid-summer through fall. Stunning when planted with Butterflyweed, Black-Eyed Susan, and any of the shorter prairie graSeed Savers Exchanges. An important prairie legume that fixes nitrogen in the soil. Grows 1-3' tall on most well-drained soils ranging from dry sand to clay.

From midsummer until early fall, beautiful bright-orange flowers cover butterflyweed. Blooms reliably from seed the first year, if sown early. Plants will reach 2-3' tall and grow well in dry, sandy soil and in well-drained loams.

You may sow the bee feed mix 1 to 2 weeks before your average last frost date. Mix the seed with some sand or sawdust, broadcast the seed, and then go over the area with a rake to work the seed into the soil a little. This product is best seeded at 6-12 lbs per acre or 5 ounces for 1000 square feet.
