Excellent lettuce: Bunter Forellenschuss (Colorful speckled Trout)
by Heike
Wonderful flavorful lettuce. Not one to keep long once cut, would recommend eating it the same day. Have grown it at 5,000 feet in arid Colorado (plains of Eastern Co) and am now growing it at 10,000 feet in a greenhouse. Still one of my favorites. Even if the spelling most likely is BunteR Forellenschuss (no L), a thought from a native German speaker.

Grew this 2 years ago. Extremely tender. I mix it with other lettuce varieties. Basically melts in your mouth. Beautiful.
